• Have students develop a connection w/traditional Jewish text.
• Have students gain an understanding of liberal Jewish approaches to text.
• Have students explore interpretations of text in modern Israeli literature.
• Prepare for Boston mifgash.

Content:

• Birchot HaShachar - exploring personal & Jewish identity through prayer
• Liberal Jewish approaches to Torah - study few key examples
• It could be interesting to take a text, such as the Akedah, study it, look at liberal midrashim, and then explore the text in Israeli literature and poetry.
• Social Justice & Torah
• How does Jewish text influence our actions and how we treat both members of our own community and others?
• Introduction to American Jewish Community
